Location in the Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore area –
The greater Washington/Baltimore geographic area is a fabulous resource for the University of Maryland Landscape Architecture Program. College Park, located five miles from Washington D. C., offers students and faculty easy access to a range of facilities and public spaces of the Nation’s Capitol including the National ASLA headquarters, the Smithsonian, the Library of Congress, scores of public spaces including the F.D.R. Memorial and the Vietnam Memorial; the Reflecting Pool and Constitution Gardens; the Pennsylvania Avenue Redevelopment Project including the Navy Memorial, Pershing Square, Freedom Plaza, and John Marshall Park; a study of the various plans for the Washington, D.C. including the L’Enfant Plan, the Downing plan, the McMillan Commission Plan and the current 21st Century Framework for the Capitol City. The area is home to the revitalized Baltimore Waterfront, Dumbarton Oaks, Rock Creek Park and other large parks and recreational areas, a number of important WPA projects including the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, and various significant community planning projects including Olmsted’s Roland Park, Greenbelt and Columbia, MD, and Reston, VA. Nearby historical sites include Williamsburg, Monticello, and Mount Vernon and many others.

Location on the University of Maryland Campus
We are located in the Plant Science Buidling (Bldg # 36). The Landscape Architecture Program administrative office is Room 2139A Plant Sciences Building.
