To celebrate GIS Day the Department of Natural Resources

Sciences and Landscape Architecture will host the following events in Room 0104, Plant Sciences Building.

 

 

  9:00 am - 12:00 pm

 

 

Research, teaching and outreach of work related to GIS from the Department will be on display. Will include research and designs from the Landscape Architecture Program, Plant Conservation Laboratory, and the Soil and Water Geospatial Analysis Laboratory, as well as others.

Presentation of 2004 Sustainable Futures Program. The Sustainable Futures Program is an interdisciplinary study abroad service learning program for landscape architecture, architecture and planning students in the Monteverde Zone, Costa Rica. The program is collaboration between the Landscape Architecture Program of the Department of Natural Resource Sciences and Landscape Architecture, the State University of New York - Buffalo, University of Illinois, the State University of New York - Syracuse, and the Monteverde Institute, Costa Rica. GIS and its role in scenario planning will be presented along with other conservation and sustainable planning and design projects.
