Studio Work - First Year

LARC 120 introduces students to fundamental computer tools and techniques commonly used in design communication and landscape architecture practice. Non-drafting computer tools are used to orient basic digital image capture, manipulation, and presentation formatting. LARC 160 introduces students to the profession of landscape architecture.The course explores the history, theory, philosophies and current practice of the profession. A primary goal of the course is to create an awareness of the interactive relationship between humans and their environment. Students in LARC 160 keep a sketch journal and complete a series of writing assignments.

This sketch exercise by John Lightle explores the relationship of behavioral factors and how they effect the site analysis process of site design.
